About Artillery Equestrian

Our Mission

At Artillery Equestrian, our mission is to provide top-notch training in a supportive environment. We aim to develop confident riders who are well-prepared for competitions in the show ring.

Alicia Chaulk - Head Coach

With over 20 years of riding experience, Alicia brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to Artillery Equestrian. Alicia is a Registered Coach with Equestrian Canada. Specializing in hunter/jumper disciplines, she excels at developing both riders and horses to reach their full potential. Alicia values building strong, trusting connections with her students, focusing on personalized coaching that nurtures confidence, skill, and a lifelong love of riding.

LESSONS & PROGRAMS

Beginner Riding Lessons & Young Rider Development

We offer beginner riding lessons for children aged 6+ and adults. We will teach you the basics of horse care, grooming, and riding. No experience necessary! Beginner riders will be in private lessons for 1 on 1 focused coaching.

Advanced Riding Lessons & Show Team

Grow your skills with personalized coaching tailored to your goals, and enjoy the opportunity to join our show team. Whether you’re aiming to refine your technique or experience the excitement of competition, we’re here to support your journey every step of the way. Showing is available on the local, bronze and silver circuits.

Horse Training & Consignment

We offer horse training and consignment services. Whether you are needing a tune-up for your equine partner, or assistance in finding them their next home, we are here to help! Part-boarding and Leasing opportunities are also available.

Horse Boarding

We offer full-service horse boarding to our show team students on a limited basis. Our board includes daily turnout in small groups, grain feedings, blanketing, and bandaging. Our on-site staff ensures that your horse receives the best care possible, and ensures they are treated like our own.

Lesson Pricing

Preparation & Policies

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled lesson time to tack-up your horse & plan for 15-20 minutes of grooming/untacking after your lesson. All riders are required to wear long pants, boots with at least a 1" heel and ASTM approved helmets (required while mounted AT ALL TIMES). Helmets can be borrowed for your first 2 lessons. Please ask Alicia for clarification if need be. NO DOGS and NO SMOKING/VAPING ALLOWED anywhere on the property. Closed-toed shoes must be worn in the barn.

Assessment Lessons

All new students must first take an assessment lesson with Alicia. Assessments are 30 minutes. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled lesson time to tack-up.

Private Lesson

Private lessons offer focused, one-on-one coaching tailored specifically to your individual goals and riding level. Private lessons are offered to beginner riders, as well as to advanced riders if space is available. Private lessons are 45 minutes in duration.

Semi-Private Lesson

Semi-private lessons offer the perfect balance of personalized coaching and shared learning for up to two riders. You’ll benefit from focused instruction tailored to your individual needs, while also gaining motivation and support alongside another rider of the same experience level. Semi-private lessons are 1 hour in duration.

Horsemanship Lessons

Looking to develop skills with horses beyond the saddle? Our horsemanship lessons are offered in groups and focus on subjects such as handling, lunging, tack fitting, stable management and first aid. Please contact us to find out when the next horsemanship lesson is happening!

Lessons are booked in monthly increments (aside from Assessment Lessons). Payment must be made by last day of the month prior to secure your lesson spot.

Makeup Lesson/Cancellation policy

Our riding program offers limited space to riders, so we require at least 24 hours written notice for any lesson cancellations to ensure proper scheduling.

If you do not provide 24 hours notice, your lesson will be forfeited. No exceptions.
Makeup lessons will be offered within 2 weeks of the missed lesson, provided that adequate notice was given.
In cases of inclement weather or emergency cancellations, Alicia will email the contact information on file to notify you.
It is your responsibility to regularly check your email for any cancellation notices.
