About Artillery Equestrian

Our Mission

At Artillery Equestrian, our mission is to provide top-notch riding lessons and horse boarding in a supportive environment. We aim to develop confident riders, ensuring they are well-equipped in and out of the show ring.

Alicia Chaulk - Head Coach

With over 20 years of riding experience, Alicia brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to Artillery Equestrian. As a Registered Coach with Equestrian Canada, Alicia specializes in hunter jumper training, excelling at developing both riders and horses to reach their full potential. She values building strong, trusting connections with her students through personalized riding lessons that nurture confidence, skill, and a lifelong love of riding.

WAITLIST - Beginner Riding Lessons & Young Rider Development

We offer beginner riding lessons for children aged 6+ and adults, focusing on the basics of horse care, grooming, and riding. No experience is necessary! Beginner riders will benefit from private lessons, ensuring 1 on 1 focused coaching.  

***Please note that beginner lesson spots are currently waitlisted - contact us to get added to the list.***

AVAILABLE - Advanced Riding Lessons & Show Team

Grow your skills with personalized coaching tailored to your goals, and enjoy the opportunity to join our show team. Whether you’re aiming to refine your technique through our riding lessons or to show off your skills & hard-work at competitions, we’re here to support your journey every step of the way. Showing options are available on the local, bronze, and silver circuits to part-boarders, lessees & owners.

Horse Training & Consignment

We offer horse training and consignment services, including horse boarding options. Whether you need a tune-up for your equine partner or assistance in finding them their next home, we are here to help! 

Horse Boarding - Offered to Horses on our Show Team

We offer full-service horse boarding specifically for our show team students on a limited basis. Our horse boarding includes daily turnout in small groups, grain feedings, blanketing, and bandaging as needed. Additionally, our on-site staff ensures that your horse receives the best care possible, treating them like our own.

Lesson Pricing

Preparation & Policies

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled riding lessons to tack-up your horse and plan for 15-20 minutes of grooming/untacking after your lesson. All riders are required to wear long pants, boots with at least a 1" heel, and ASTM approved helmets (required while mounted AT ALL TIMES). Helmets can be borrowed for your first 2 lessons. Please ask Alicia for clarification if need be. NO DOGS and NO SMOKING/VAPING ALLOWED anywhere on the property. Closed-toed shoes must be worn in the

Assessment Lessons

All new students must first take an assessment lesson with Alicia, which lasts for 30 minutes. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled lesson time to tack-up. 

Private Lesson

Private lessons provide focused, one-on-one coaching tailored specifically to your individual goals and riding level. These private lessons are available for both beginner and advanced riders, depending on space availability. Each session lasts 45 minutes.

WAITLIST - Semi-Private Lesson

Semi-private riding lessons offer the perfect balance of personalized coaching and shared learning for up to two riders. You’ll benefit from focused instruction tailored to your individual needs, while also gaining motivation and support alongside another rider of the same experience level. Each semi-private lesson lasts 1 hour and is offered on a limited basis.

Horsemanship Lessons

Looking to develop skills with horses beyond the saddle? Our horsemanship lessons are offered in groups and focus on subjects such as handling, lunging, tack fitting, stable management, and first aid.  Please contact us to find out when the next horsemanship lesson is happening!

Riding lessons are booked in monthly increments (aside from Assessment Lessons). To secure your lesson spot, payment must be made by the last day of the month prior.

Makeup Lesson/Cancellation policy

Our riding program offers limited space to riders, so we require at least 24 hours written notice for any lesson cancellations to ensure proper scheduling.

  • If you do not provide 24 hours notice, your lesson will be forfeited. No exceptions.
     
  • Makeup lessons will be offered within 2 weeks of the missed lesson, provided that adequate notice was given.
     
  • In cases of inclement weather or emergency cancellations, Alicia will email the contact information on file to notify you.
     
  • It is your responsibility to regularly check your email for any cancellation notices.
