We operate on a monthly lesson program - all lessons are purchased in monthly blocks to secure your spot. Lessons are offered to riders ages 5+. We offer lessons from beginner to advanced. Our lesson program will be expanding early 2027, please fill out the form on the bottom of this page for more information! Please note, there is a weight restriction of 200lbs.
All prices below are subject to HST.
All new students must first take an assessment lesson with Alicia, which lasts for 30 minutes. This will be used to determine your current riding skill level. For participants who have never ridden a horse before, this is a great way to gauge interest!
Group lessons are limited to 4 riders per group. Group lessons are great for riders who can tack-up unassisted and ride w/t independently. While in a group, riders benefit from learning through watching their fellow classmates & having a supportive team-based environment.
Semi-private riding lessons offer the perfect balance of personalized coaching and shared learning for up to two riders. You'll benefit from focused instruction tailored to your individual needs, while also gaining motivation and support alongside another rider of the same experience level. Each semi-private lesson lasts 1 hour and is offered on a limited basis.
Private lessons provide focused, one-on-one coaching tailored specifically to your individual goals and riding level. These private lessons are available for both beginner and advanced riders, depending on space availability. Each session lasts 45 minutes. Participants new to riding are required to take a minimum of 4 private lessons.
Looking to develop skills with horses beyond the saddle? Our horsemanship lessons are offered in groups and focus on subjects such as handling, lunging, tack fitting, stable management, and first aid. Please contact us to find out when the next horsemanship lesson is happening!
Freelance Lessons: We offer freelance lessons on a limited basis to stables within 1 hr of our home base. If interested, please email artilleryequestrian@gmail.com to inquire. Ship-ins are welcome with proof of Flu/Rhino Vaccination.

Helmets can be borrowed for your assessment lesson. Upon signing up for your first lesson, an ASTM approved riding helmet is required. (Please ask your coach for information on where to purchase.)

Paddock boots are the recommended choice for riding as they offer support different to regular boots like Blundstones or rubber wellies. Half chaps are recommended as they prevent pinching/rubbing. Boots cannot have a zipper on the inside.

Specialized riding pants called Breeches, offer extra grip & comfort for when in the saddle. Legging-style pants can also be worn, but may be more slippery. Jeans are NOT permitted.

Riding gloves have extra grip on the palms & where the reins go in the riders hand. They are very helpful for learning to ride.

Belly tops, tank tops & spaghetti straps are not permitted. Riders must have shirts with at least a 3" strap.

Following your assessment lesson, we require you to purchase an annual Ontario Equestrian Membership. This membership provides personal liability insurance, access to provincial competitions, and exclusive member perks for riders and horse owners in the province.
In the event of a weather or emergency cancellation by AE, riders in our riding school will be provided with a makeup lesson date.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
